Who we are
This shop is operated by StructTech LLC, doing business as Material Matrix. When you buy here, you are buying from Material Matrix. We source the material from Windy Hill Metal Sales, who make it to order.
How to reach us is set out under Your choices, below.
What we collect, and why
When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and - if you choose delivery - your delivery address. We need these to contact you about your order, build the work order, and get the material to you.
If you upload a roof scope or drawing, we store that file so we can quote and build from it.
When you pay, your card details go directly to Stripe. They never touch our systems and we never see or store your card number. We receive only a payment confirmation.
If you create an account, we store your email address and a scrambled version of your password that cannot be read back, including by us.
If you save a cart to your account, our staff can see it, and we may call you about it.
We also collect the job name you put on an order and any notes you type into it, and both are sent to our email automation. Our website host and our database provider record IP addresses in their own server logs.
We use no advertising trackers, we build no analytics profile, and we sell or share nothing for marketing.
Where it goes
We use a small number of companies to run the shop. Each one only gets what it needs.
- Stripe - card payments. Your card details go to them, not to us.
- Supabase - our database and sign-in system. Your order and account live here.
- Vercel - hosts the website itself.
- Make.com - sends the order emails to our driver and to you.
- Being finalised - not yet in effect The email service that delivers those messages.
We do not sell your information to anyone, for any purpose.
Cookies and what your browser stores
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies of our own. If you sign in, your browser stores a sign-in token so you stay signed in, and signing out removes it.
When the payment form loads, Stripe sets two cookies of its own on this site - __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid - before you type any card details. They are Stripe's, for fraud prevention. They are not ours, and they are not for advertising.
How long we keep things
We keep order records indefinitely. Account details are kept until you ask us to delete them, and we will delete what we are not required to keep for tax and accounting.
Your choices
Email us at the address below and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete your account and personal details except what we must keep for tax records. We will not make you jump through hoops.
We have not published contact details yet, so this page cannot give you an address to write to. As soon as we do, it will appear here.
Children
This shop sells building material to contractors and property owners. It is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.
If this policy changes
We will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we will say so plainly rather than bury it.
